Gifted Program

At Arrowview Elementary we strive to meet the unique needs of all students including students who fall within the gifted range.

Approximately only two percent of the population is gifted. At Arrowview Elementary that means between two to four students will be identified and qualify for the gifted program.

Toward the end of the grade three year students who demonstrate characteristics of "giftedness", and with parent approval, write the Canadian Cognitive Abilities Test (C.C.A.T.). Students who score in the top two percent, as determined by the District Physchologist, become eligible to join the gifted program.

The Gifted Program at AES is predominately a pull out program and project based, with the majority of work completed outside of instructional time, at home.
