 2012 Provincial Exam Bulletin Posted:
The Provincial Exam Bulletin has been posted to the Exams website under "Popular Topics" (http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/exams/).  Press this link (june_exam_bulletin.pdf) to open the PDF.
Grade 12 students who are applying to a post-secondary institution are reminded to complete the Online PSI Selections Form by June 30 if you have not already done so.  Admission offers may be delayed or denied if students do not authorize the release of their transcript data via the PSI Selections Form.

Grad Planner Now Available On-line: To support our commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the Ministry will no longer be printing and distributing the Grad Planner. A printable version of the Grad Planner is now available on the Ministry website at: http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/graduation/grad-transitions/grad_planner.pdf.

StudyBuzz (provincial exam prep site)
StudyBuzz, the provincial exam prep site to help students improve achievement, is now available free to all BC students.
Students access StudyBuzz by logging in with their PEN numbers at the LearnNowBC site, http://www.learnnowbc.gov.bc.ca/. This gives them free use of StudyBuzz, Live Tutoring, Live Classes and Charged Up for Math & Science. An online tutorial is available through http://www.edvantagepress.com/studybuzz/tutorial.html.
1. Students log in, choose their course and do a series of online assessments.
2. Students immediately receive a personalized study guide, summarizing their strengths and weaknesses. The study guides provide solutions to questions and reasons why incorrect answers are wrong.
3. Students focus their study time on their areas of weakness.
4. Students can retake the tests to see if they still have areas of weakness in their provincial exam prep.

  )      Black & Lee Scholarship Program:  Deadline May 15, 2013
Eligible students must be between 15 and 20 on May 15, 2013, be attending a post-secondary institution by the fall of 2013, have a GPA of 2.5 or greater, and write an essay.  The essay topic is a valedictorian essay/speech that is no longer than 1000 words.  It should fulfill the following goals:  convey a ‘sending off’ message to the members of a graduating class; and inspire graduating students to leave the comfort and security of their school with a full heart, and to embark on an exciting new adventure.  Further information is available at http://www.studentscholarships.org/blackandlee.  The application deadline is May 15, 2013.

      Janice Lee Blue Wave Bursary:  Deadline May 20, 2013
The Canadian Mental Health Association’s BC Division through the Blue Wave initiative is proud to offer a new bursary program.  Eligible applicants are students who have experienced a significant mental health or substance use problem and are accessing treatment and support.  Students must also be under age 19, be a graduating student, lived in BC for at least one year, be enrolled in first-year studies at a recognized BC university, college or technical school by December 1, 2013, and demonstrate financial need.  Further information is available at www.ok2bblue.com (click What’s Happening link), or www.cmha.bc.ca (news item).  Application deadline is May 20, 2013.

      CG Masters Academy:  Deadline May 24, 2013
This is a new 3D Animation and Visual Effects school in New Westminster.  They are offering a full-tuition scholarship for September 2013.  Further information is available in the Counselling Office.  Further information regarding the school is available at academy.cg-masters.com.  The application deadline for the scholarship is May 24, 2013.

      Visual College of Art and Design (VCAD):  Deadline May 24, 2013
VCAD offers scholarship opportunities for students interested in attending the school.  Pamphlets are available in the Counselling office, or online at scholarshipinfo.vcad.ca.  The application deadline is May 24, 2013.

  )      British Columbia Electrical Association 2013 Bursary Program:  Deadline July 31, 2013
Bursaries are available to Grade 12 and post-secondary students who will be attending full-time post-secondary studies in September to pursue a career in electrical, marketing, electrical engineering, or business.  The application information is available here.  The application deadline is July 31, 2013.

  )      BCIT Entrance Awards:  Deadline August 5, 2013 and January 6, 2014
Entrance Awards are available to students beginning programs at BCIT between April 1, 2013 and March 31, 2014.  The deadline for BCIT President’s Entrance Awards and Entrance Awards for programs starting April 1, 2013 to November 30, 2013 is August 5, 2013.  The deadline for Entrance Awards for programs starting December 1, 2013 to March 31, 2014 is January 6, 2014.  The application package can be downloaded from bcit.ca/finaid.
