Grade 4 and 5
Our Grade 4 and 5 program focuses on exanding reading, writing and numeracy skills, with an inclusion of Science and Social Studies curriculum. The program includes

Expanded use of online learning resources ( e.g. Moodle, Riverdeep, Llearn, Discovery Education, etc.), as well as a selection of current textbooks and printed resources.

Enjoyment of writing for a variety of purposes (stories, book studies, letters, journals, poetry, reports…).

“Read to learn” (fiction, non-fiction, magazines, novel series, websites…)

Reinforcement of basic numeracy skills (addition, subtraction, measurement, time, money)

Introduction of more complex skils such as multiplication and division.

Social Studies, exploring Canada (mapping, geography, natural resources, First Nations, immigration, provinces).

Science, with topics including habitats and communities, light and sound and weather, human body, forces, simple machines, and renewable & non-renewable resources.
