year we are seeing a tremendous decrease in the amount of plastic food wrap and
other litter coming from our students’ snacks and lunch. At a recent assembly, students from the
Leadership Elective Class kicked off a campaign promoting “litterless lunches”. A litterless lunch is any lunch that comes
entirely in re-useable containers and does not contain any plastic wrap or
result in any garbage. A “nude food”
makes a great recess snack. This is any
snack that you take outside whole and can eat the entire thing as it has no
packaging. Working together, we can aim
for a litter-free playground. This would
benefit the wildlife, the streams and oceans, and the health and wellness of
our kids! Thanks to our caring parents
for their support of this initiative.
