This year we are seeing a tremendous decrease in the amount of plastic food wrap and other litter coming from our students’ snacks and lunch. At a recent assembly, students from the Leadership Elective Class kicked off a campaign promoting “litterless lunches”. A litterless lunch is any lunch that comes entirely in re-useable containers and does not contain any plastic wrap or result in any garbage. A “nude food” makes a great recess snack. This is any snack that you take outside whole and can eat the entire thing as it has no packaging. Working together, we can aim for a litter-free playground. This would benefit the wildlife, the streams and oceans, and the health and wellness of our kids! Thanks to our caring parents for their support of this initiative.
Don't miss this spring's school musical production, The Hills Are Alive. This adaptation of the famous movie "The Sound of Music" features our Musical Theatre Club playing the roles of Maria, the nuns,The Captain, and the VonTrapp children. Kindergarten to Grade 4 classes will each perform a musical number to accompany the short drama. We are offering two shows for parents on 6 June - 11 am and 1 pm. Performances will take place in our QBES Multi-Purpose Room. Parents and grandparents are welcome as Maria brings music and happiness to the highly disciplined VonTrapp family.
