Our libray is an attractive and busy center of learning in the school. We have maintained an excellent collection of fiction and non-fiction books for both the primary and intermediate students. In addition to print materials, we have six dedicated computer terminals to assist students with research. All intermediate classes have an opportunity to participate in a researh project at some point during the year. All classes are scheduled to visit the library several times a week to browse and borrow books. Books may be borrowed for two weeks and may be renewed if needed. All students are encouraged to develop the habit of borowing two books so that they have a book to read in class as well as at home. Daily reading practice can make a big difference in a student's success at school and in life! Our library is also used by the Mother Goose program. In the case of a lost or damaged book, students have a responsiblity to pay for the book. If the lost book is found, the money will of course, be refunded. This allows us to maintain our collection of books. As well, the library usually runs a reading contest to promote reading during the year.
