About the CEAP Program

CEAP stands for “Collaborative Education Alternative Program"

CEAP is part of School District, Qualicum. 

Grades K-9

At CEAP there are classes for grades K to 9 that come to school for a blended program.  Currently the blended grades are K-3, 4-9.  

For the 2024/2025 school year:

Grades K-3 attend Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Grades 4-9 attend Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Wednesday is Exploratory Day, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. -for all grades (Kindergarten - Grade 9).

Supports available on Monday and Friday:
  • ​Student and parent support meetings, zooms or calls ( by appointment please)
  • Small group learning support
  • Adaptations to course material, if required
  • Online assessment and formative feedback by teachers on SPACES and Moodle
At-home requirements:
  • Students will be expected to continue their learning at home with an adult to support and facilitate learning; Students are expected to address the four core subjects at home
  • Students are expected to communicate/engage with our online learning portfolio called SPACES
  • Students have choice on how they show their learning
Key Components of CEAP K - 9
  • Hybrid between online at home and in-person learning
  • Online via Moodle, SPACES, and other possible sites
  • Start up Learning Plan meetings with families happen in September
  • In-person via Interaction days (Tuesdays/Thursdays) and Field Experience days (Wednesdays)
  • Families are encouraged to supplement courses with outside activities/lessons based on student interests
  • At home, an adult is expected to facilitate and support the learning of all the Big Ideas for the 4 core subjects monthly, at minimum.
  • At a scheduled parent/guardian/teacher meeting in September/October, personalized Learning Plans will be developed together and will be used to guide the learning for the year, at home and at school learning
  • Home Facilitators are asked to check off the Big Ideas on the yearly Learning Plan as they go
  • Home Facilitators are expected to have all evidence of learning uploaded and to attend the Portfolio Review meetings in February and June to celebrate their student's learning journey
Grades 10-12

Students in grades 10 thru 12 may choose to be in the CEAP senior program.  All courses are online and and may receive help from CEAP teachers scheduled during the school week.  We strive to make this a successful learning program.
