'Uy' skweyul! Bienvenue à une nouvelle année scolaire! Welcome to a new school year!

At École Oceanside Elementary, we are grateful to gather, learn, and grow together on the traditional territories of the Snaw'naw'as and Qualicum First Nations. At Oceanside, we believe in creating a strong, caring, and inclusive community where every student feels valued and supported, and where everyone's contributions matter. Our goal is to facilitate meaningful learning experiences that spark curiosity, foster growth, and inspire every child to reach their full potential. We are proud to embed the First Peoples Principles of Learning into our daily practice, recognizing that learning is holistic, reflective, experiential, and relational. These principles guide us in building a deeper understanding of ourselves, our community, and our responsibilities to the world around us.

We are looking forward to what promises to be a year filled with exciting opportunities and learning adventures! Communication and parent involvement are key to our success, and we truly value the partnership between home and school. We encourage you to ask questions, share your ideas, and let us know how we can support you. To stay connected, please be sure to sign up for our weekly newsletters, where you'll find updates about the many engaging activities happening in our building.

Together with our students, staff, and families, we look forward to learning, growing, and creating wonderful memories as we work hand in hand to provide the best educational experience possible.

Here's to a fantastic school year ahead—one filled with meaningful connections and, above all, lots of fun and exciting learning! Go Otters!

Warmly,
Jennifer Nichols
