Information for Parents

Communication between home and school is of utmost importance. The school welcomes parents' desires to find out about their child's progress. Both parents and teachers need to talk with each other, to share information and common concerns, and to collaborate in ways that further the child's development and learning.
Communication needs to be an ongoing process. Together parents and teachers can work toward the common goal - the healthy and constructive growth of the child.

PARENT NEWSLETTERS
At least twice a month a newsletter to parents will come home from the administration of QBES and or PAC. These newsletters contain information on upcoming events, dates for your calendar, educational items, directives from the School District office, and requests for your suggestions and participation. The newsletter will also contain new items or staff lists.
Some classroom teachers will also publish class letters. We appreciate your feedback for both class and school-wide newsletters.
Rarely, we must also publish ALERT messages for families regarding incidents or dangers in the immediate community. Special events many also have their own special announcement letter.

QBES PAC - ALL QBES PARENTS WELCOME!
The Parent Advisory Council continues to build positive relationships between parents and teachers. It strengthens the home-school partnership. Our school views parents as our "partners in learning" and an important link in any child's education is the relationship established between home and school.

QBES SPC (School Planning Council)

The purpose of School Planning Council is to formally acknowledge the importance of parental involvement in improving student achievement.  By looking thoughtfully at how students are performing, the SPC helps schools to focus on their core educational purpose.  The SPC is made up of the principal of the school, one teacher and 3 parents of students enrolled in the school (one of whom are on the PAC) .  They are elected annually by the Parents' Advisory Council.
