MARCH 25 COVID-19 Continuity of Learning/ Childcare Planning/ Ministry FAQ

Message to all Parents, Guardians, Caregivers, Families:

Message to all Parents, Guardians, Caregivers, Families:

We hope you and your families are keeping as well as can be during these unprecedented times. We are in a time of change each day and wish to share with you what may happen next week as we know it today.

·         Teachers will be connecting with families at some point during the week via email, telephone or other electronic means.

·         Please know we are working on how to support students with their ongoing engagement of learning, including resources on how to talk to children about COVID-19. Please note this is not an expectation of a continuity of curriculum or instruction, but an engagement of learning.

·         We will communicate information as we receive it from the Ministry under the direction of the Health Authorities. We will share information and update our website on a regular basis.  An FAQ from the Ministry has now been posted to the District's website

As part of our planning we are trying to collect information as to how many families  would need to have child care support for children who are too young to be at home alone during the school day and their parents/guardians are working in essential services. The school district needs to know how we can support the planning for this need.

Please reply to COVIDUpdates@sd69.bc.ca  indicating the school your child currently attends and the type of  child care support you would need so you would be able to continue with the essential work you are doing to support the community.

Thank you and take care,

SD69 Senior Leadership Team
