What is a Google Apps for Education (GAFE) Student Account?
A Google Apps for Education (GAFE) student account allows students to access their learning within a secure online collaboration platform provided and managed by the School District. GAFE is to be used for educational purposes along with other Google Apps tools.
Google Apps for Education functions within what Google calls a “walled garden.” It will not allow students to send or receive email outside of the school district GAFE domain. Students can only send emails to school district staff and students within the secure environment. It will not allow him or her to send or receive email outside of our “walled garden.”
These tools are accessible from any device that has access to the internet. Google Apps will work on desktops, laptops, Chromebooks and there are specific Google Apps available or Android and iPad tablets.
If you are a student between Grade K-12, student and parent consent is required for a SD69 GAFE account. Once you have an account, you can reset the password and start using the GAFE tools.
