French Advisory Council

The French Advisory Council (FAC) provides advice, recommendations, and feedback to senior staff on matters relating to French language programs in our district. This Council meets three times per school year, typically in November, February, and April, and reports out through the Board Meetings.

TERMS OF REFERENCE

The FAC meets to discuss strategic priorities as they relate to federal funding allocations and district program development:

  • to promote French language learning in the Qualicum School District;

  • to support relevant, accessible, and high quality French Second Language (FSL) learning programs that optimize resources and appropriately complement district programming;

  • to help integrate FSL program guidelines within the district's learning framework, as well as to serve as a forum for ongoing sharing of perspectives on program directions;

  • to ensure our district French programs align with federal funding guidelines.
