Qualicum School District resides on Coast Salish Territory and within the shared territory of the Snaw'naw'as and Qualicum First Nations.

Welcome

Qualicum School District welcomes and supports all First Nations, Metis and Inuit families and students, with the understanding in this context, that First Nations includes all Aboriginal people and people of Metis and Inuit ancestry.

The Education Enhancement Agreement between the First Nations, Metis and Inuit people living in the boundaries of the Qualicum School District and the Ministry of Education respects the right of all First Nations, Metis and Inuit students to receive a quality education in the public school system and a meaningful graduation that provides a foundation for students to become successful contributing members of the community and society of their choice.

Truth and Reconciliation

The Indigenous Education department for Qualicum School District is committed to ongoing Truth and Reconciliation.  By bringing Indigenous history, language and culture to the forefront of our services we can enhance a sense of belonging for our families and students.  Working together with all families and staff is a priority for our department.  We are guided by the quote by Justice Murray Sinclair "Education is what got us here and education is what will get us out."
