The Board of Education will be considering school boundary changes for 2026/27, particularly those that may affect Springwood, École Oceanside, and Nanoose Bay Elementary Schools. See below on the banner or district announcements for links to more information.
The Qualicum School District Board of Education is hosting an online session regarding potential school catchment boundary shifts in the Parksville area with the intention of easing long-term enrollment pressure at Springwood Elementary and Ecole Ballenas Secondary.
The neighborhoods being discussed include:
Grades K-7
Grades 8-12
This presentation will include information relevant to the decision-making process, and will be recorded and posted for those interested in seeing it later. There will be a Q and A session for those attending the live session and a survey that will be made available online afterward for school district parents and caregivers.
The presentation will also include the basics of legacy status (grandfathering) at schools as per Board Policy 704.
