Hello Grad Parents/Guardians,

Prom is just over two weeks away now! There's not a lot to cover off on but please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

With a few shifts left to fill, please see the Volunteer Sign Up Sheet - click HERE to sign up for prom set up, decorating, day of duties and cleanup.  ('Security" is one area where we will definitely need many volunteers!)

Reminder: EVERYONE, PLEASE READ THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT. It includes some important drop-off information in it as well as important information regarding drugs and alcohol - please ensure that your grad is aware that this is a drug and alcohol free event. There will be a zero bag policy but clutch purses and shoes will be allowed.

Volunteers can expect to receive an email with more information a couple of days before the event. Thank you in advance for helping to make this a special night for our grads. 

We have had a change in venue for the prom. We will now be holding the event in the arena at Arbutus Meadows (1515 Island Hwy E, Nanoose Bay). Same day, same time, new location. See the below poster for the detailed timeline of events:​

Below is a summary of some of the key information for the prom.​

Prom Date, Time, Location:

• BSS Prom 2024: Saturday, June 29th @ 5:00 PM - 12 AM, Arbutus Meadows arena, 1515 Island Hwy E, Nanoose Bay
• 3 PM - group photo at the Community Beach Park
• 4 PM - grad walk-through at Berwick Parksville Retirement Community
• 5 PM - doors open at the venue (games, tarot reader & photo booths inside) 
• 5 PM - 6 PM - arrival window: red carpet announcement and photo opportunity for families
• 6:30 PM - dinner
• 12 AM - doors close

Here are some reminders about the pre-prom events, which are optional for your grads....We have booked the Community Park Waterfront Gazebo from 2 - 4 PM on June 29th. This is where the grads can come together for photo opportunities and we'll schedule the group shot for 3 PM. The residents at the Berwick retirement community in Parksville are looking forward to seeing our grads on the day of prom. Your grad is welcome to do a walk-through of the facility between 4 and 4:30 PM.
