PARKOUR/GYMNASTICS ANYONE??:  Nikki is gathering interest in starting a Parkour/Gymnastics Club for February/March after school.  If you are interested come sign up in the HUB and she will connect with you when details are final. 

ATTENTION GRADS: KSS is hosting a winter formal on Jan 27th from 7-10pm and all Ballenas grads are invited (no plus ones). Tickets are for sale at lunch in the front foyer for $7 each, or $10 at the door.

Grad wear is now available for purchase through school cash-online or via paper orders at the office. Orders are due by January 20th. Also, please see the google classroom for an important form that is due no later than Jan. 31.

THIS WEEK IN THE LEARNING COMMONS - COFFEE CARD CHALLENGE: Pop into the Learning Commons any day this week to complete our “One Minute Challenge" and get your name in a draw for a $10 coffee card. Look for a new challenge and draw every month.

If you were on the 2021 Football Teams (players and managers) you need to confirm with Ms. Jupe that you will be coming to the Awards Ceremony on Sunday, January 22nd ASAP.  Parents also need to contact her to get tickets.  We need to know the numbers for the banquet by this week!   See Coach Conn in room 909 if you have any questions.

Also, any Whalers Football player currently in Grade 10, there is a lunch meeting next Tuesday, January 24th with Coach Dan and Coach Scott in Room 909.

GOLF TEAM:  Any persons, grade 8-12 who may be interested in playing on the Ballenas Golf team this year is asked to attend a brief meeting on today at lunch in the Mezzanine.  It is important that every person interested attend this meeting or See Mr. Britz ahead of time.

HOT CHOCOLATE & CHOCOLATE BARS: Get your chocolate fix Wednesdays at lunch with hot chocolate and chocolate bars for sale in the main foyer by Model UN students. Two dollars for hot chocolate or a chocolate bar!

CUE (CANADIAN UNIVERSITIES EVENT) will be hosting a virtual event for students on January 19 from 6-8pm.  The event allows students to visit with university reps from over 50 Canadian post-secondary institutions.  This event is geared towards Grade 11 and 12 students and their supporters.

Each university will have a drop-in style virtual booth where students can choose which universities they wish to visit and can ask questions about programs, admissions, scholarships, housing and more.

Come to the office if you would like more information on how to sign up for this event.

SHOWING OFF YOUR CULTURE: Are you interested in sharing your culture with other students? Leadership wants to bring back a "culture day" where we showcase and explore various cultures here at the school! Any students who might be interested in showing off their culture sometime in MARCH, come to an info session TOMORROW at Lunch in room 913 or talk to Ms. Spence.

GSA will be in the HUB afterschool on Wednesdays from 3:15-4:30. Come join us for snacks and a warm, welcoming community. We do art and discuss change. Talk to Nikki or Mrs. Spence for more info.

STUDENT VOICE IS BACK – HR/CLC reps, please meet in room 202 this Friday at lunch. Please remember to bring your STUDENT VOICE booklet. Our topic for this session is WIFI – no need to do anything in advance, just join the session this Friday during lunch
